Many of the individuals and families we serve struggle to make ends meet and find it difficult to look beyond the day-to-day. Other aspects of their lives suffer as a result. Mary Rigg seeks to empower these individuals and families to reach economic stabilty by helping them to build their income and assets through job skills training, continuing education and secure employment. Workers with a High School Equivalency diploma, formerly GED, earn approximately $2,000 more per year. Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center, in partnership with Washington Township Schools, offers High School Equivalency classes with flexible schedules for anyone looking to further their education.
Monday - Wednesday - Friday 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

While enrolled in our HSE classes at Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center, students have the opportunity to register for the Fuel For School Scholarship program. This program gives them access to employment, financial and life coaching, providing the support needed to achieve educational and personal goals. In the program students complete steps to assist them in continuing their education past HSE, such as:
Each completed step earns students points toward helpful rewards such as bus passes or gas cards, and exam fees. Students who successfully pass the HSE exam and complete all Fuel for School steps earn a $500 scholarship toward additional training or school.
