Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center Director of Programs Elected to National Association of Workforce Development Professionals Board of Directors
Indianapolis, IN: Stephanie James, Director of Programs at Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center, has been elected to the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) board of directors. Ms. James will serve as State Director of Indiana, representing workforce professionals from around the state in the national trade association.
In her role as Director of Programs at Mary Rigg Neighborhood Center, Ms. James oversees adult education and training, employment coaching and support programs. She has worked with a variety of workforce development programs in the Indianapolis area over the past twelve years. In 2011, Ms. James received her Workforce Development Professional Certification. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Affairs from Indiana University.
“I’m honored to serve on the NAWDP board and look forward to working with the association to move the workforce development profession forward as we strive to meet the demands of employers for a skilled, qualified workforce, and to address the complex needs of today’s workforce population,” said Ms. James. “I welcome the opportunity to represent the workforce landscape in Indiana while exchanging ideas and best practices with our peers from around the country.”
Workforce development professionals facilitate the process by which individuals identify, prepare for, obtain and maintain employment and self-sufficiency; and assist businesses with accessing and retaining a quality workforce. NAWDP is a national association for individual practitioners in the workforce development profession, with over 4,000 members. Its mission is to be the national voice for the profession and to meet the individual professional development needs of its membership.
