Buddy Bench Arrives at Mary Rigg

Mary Rigg’s Youth Program has been working hard this past year collecting, sorting, and cleaning bottle caps for a Buddy Bench. The Buddy Bench is finally HERE!!!

Green Tree Plastics in Evansville, Indiana runs the ABC Program that takes caps and lids and turns them into benches, trash receptacles, and tables. The program teaches school age children about green living and ways to help care for the earth.

Mary Rigg’s Youth Program went on a massive hunt for over 100 pounds of bottle caps and lids. With a huge help from the Mu Alpha Latreian and other donors, we were able to collect all 100 pounds, and we were also able to collect the $230 to pay for the bench.

This bench is so important for the center and the kids. The purpose of the Buddy Bench is that no one is left out. The bench is a special place for our youth to go when they need to talk to someone.
